To understand the process of archiving files using Zip, it is helpful to be familiar with RMS file and record attributes.
RMS files have three formats: Indexed, Sequential and Relative.
Record sizes indicate the minimum record size for Indexed files, the maximum record size for variable record-length files and the actual record length for fixed record length files.
